This piece was begun after I took two seasons to design costumes for the Sonia Plumb Dance Company in Connecticut.
Given the opportunity to sketch real dancers and see what the human body can be pushed to do, I tried to add this to my repertoire. Also, I had never really tried to capture the aesthetic of the asian face.
